This is changing the way people think about photos and many young photographers have been brought up in the digital world. Anne Hardy learned her art the old fashioned way by messing around in a dark room. Each of her pictures takes 3 to 4 months to produce. Her subjects are rooms which she has filled with a variety of objects- such as the one here, which she has called “Cipher”. This is how it is described in the catalogue: “ Hardy’s dense interiors become sites of wonder and unease as seemingly miscellaneous found objects compile with an obsessive and meticulous order” I’m sure that it takes many years at art school to learn to write and speak like this. Anne Hardy has it off pat. I admire her pictures, but I’ve no idea what they mean and I’m none the wiser after hearing her talk about them.
