A Kiss Before Dying – Uncut

“Every lamb that is born is born to have its throat cut”
         - Beatrix Potter

The Head Chef at Whites, the Gentleman’s Club for toffs, said, with more than a hint of pride, that he’s only been asked to prepare a vegetarian meal three times in 12 years. This will be because toffs are as likely to pop out and shoot their supper as they are to shop for it, so they don’t have any illusions about what’s required to put meat on the table.
But for some, the idea that an animal is reared to be slaughtered is too much to take. My video of a bull being taken to the slaughterhouse and kissing a cow en-route has now been viewed half a million times and has provoked some pretty vicious comments. I hadn’t realised that vegetarians were so blood-thirsty.

Here’s a message received a few days ago:
FUCK YOU SALLY
YOU FUCKING ASS BITCH NIGGA FUCKING CUNT
FUCKING HEARTHLESS MOTHERFUCKER I WISH U AND UR WHOLE FAMILY WILL DIE !
FUCKING STUPID PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT THIS MAY BE A SIN TO KILL BUT WHAT I KILL WITH SIN IS A MONSTER !

The Sally referred to is my PA, who posted the video onto Youtube. Here’s one with a good Christian message:
Pray that these people burn in hell. I pray the lord judges and sentences you to eternal suffering

and

We are a huge group here. We are spotting every one. We check every face and every action. Expect us and get ready to face the same torture. If you don’t respect the life, then you don’t deserve to live

There’s an irony here, in that when I edited the video I deliberately cut out the gruesome bits, so as not to offend anyone. I think the time has come to release the uncut version. Here it is. Is this a red rag to a bull?

    About Slow Life

The idea of Slow Life is to take the principles of Slow Food, which are “good, clean and fair”, and extend them to life in general.

Here in the Lake District, the air is clean, the pace is slow and the atmosphere is calm. If we don’t grow food ourselves, we can buy it in friendly small shops, where you know the quality is going to be the best.

This blog is a celebration of the Slow Life, with forays into the world of design, music, the arts, gardens, and my particular weakness, Japan.
